The Pastoral Council is consultative to the pastor. Consultation by its very definition means to be open and seek the wisdom of; ask the advice of a person or group in order to reach consensus decisions.
Objectives of the Pastoral Council
The parish pastoral council has a threefold mission:
The Finance Committee
As the name implies, acts in consultation with the Pastor on all financial matters within the Church and provides to the Pastor and Parish Council recommendations which impact the fiscal health of the parish.
The Construction & Maintenance Committee
This group not only oversees the construction of the new parish center but also addresses issues in regard to maintenance and upkeep of the many facilities at St. Mary's, including both parish and school.
